Garfunklr

A prototype web app for avid readers to track their books and historical reading data.

A prototype service inspired by the many millions of book photos on Instagram with hashtags like #finishedreading and #bookstagram, and Art Garfunkel’s habit of listing all the books he’s been reading since 1969.

Garfunklr imports all photos with a nominated hashtag. Users tag each photo with author and title, which connects the photo to the database of books.

Users can see how many books by an author they have read, and how many more they have to go (and other users they know that have read those books).

Users can also view data on their reading – e.g. how many books per year / month.
