Week #2209

Weeknotes | June 4, 2024

“What day is it?” asked Pooh.
“It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.
“My favorite day,” said Pooh.

Half-term week with a Bank Holiday thrown in…felt all over the place, structure-wise.

  • Bradburys came over, ate all our food and made an almighty mess inside and out. They’re worth it though.
  • Went to Northamptonshire for Brady’s work at Lyveden. The misery of a retail park Premier Inn outside Kettering made better by how much Maggie absolutely loves a Premier Inn.
  • Did National Trusting while Brady worked, including a house where you had to get the key from a bungalow over the road and then let yourself in. It’s unnerving being in a 600+ year old building without anyone else around. On top of that there was a pram in a fireplace that was making a clicking sound so we got our National Trust stamp and got outta there before we could get haunted.
  • Body felt old. Dragged it out for a run. Not sure if it helped.
  • Got drastically into The Piano on Channel 4. What a show!
  • Took some footage in the studio for a new solo music project that’s bubbling up. Recording next week? I hope so.
  • Listened to a lot of Burial. It finally clicked in my brain and now that first album has me by the throat. Fave track: Wounder.
  • Watched/listened to a lot of Winnie the Pooh. We’re all singing the songs constantly around the house and enjoying words and wordplay.
  • Maggie invented a new word: Teaseism – it’s a gentler version of sarcasm that she finds no less annoying.

A clicking pram in a fireplace. No thanks.
